Hi Dominique, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey started as a young aspiring entertainer. I have always been heavy into music, sports, and acting. I have had my share of experiences in all of those categories and still spread my expertise throughout each industry. However, My business is in its branding stage and was sparked through my music career. The core of my business plan is to create sellable fashion attire and household merchandise that people use everyday. I eventually want my business to become a talent development agency , recording studio, designer fashion brand, and restaurant/club chain. As of today I have launched the clothing brand and been working with talented individuals to create industry productions and build their brand to jumpstart their career’s the right way.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has been really tough but it is a challenge that excites me and gives me something to look forward to. I live with the mindset that nothing worth having ever comes easy, you have to earn everything that you want to accomplish. There has been many setbacks and obstacles that were truly discouraging along my journey but I can say that i’ve overcome everything in the best way possible. I am absolutely satisfied with where i’m at today and I know that from here I can only go further if I never look back.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
What I do is create music and amazing productions. My brand is called Iceyyworld Entertainment based from my music industry alias Niek 2iceyy. I specialize in creating music and being a jack of all trades in the entertainment industry. So that is why my business model is so wide spread throughout all of the industries. What my company provides is a service that can help people reach their biggest dreams. I am known for spreading love and motivation in the community. I am dedicated to reaching the success that can come from discouraged people that grew up in poverty.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
When finding a mentor it is best to learn as much as you can about successful people who are similar to you or your vision. Most of the time the right mentor will find you. People may even be secretly mentoring you if you find them going above and beyond to help you with something. So absolutely listen to the things that your teachers, professors, supervisors, parents and even friends that live a successful life tell you, they are normally there for your best interest. Another thing would be to involve yourself in programs and organizations that help to connect professionals. Attend special events and zoom meetings to learn and ask questions. Eventually you will come across the right mentor.
