Today we’d like to introduce you to Elyse Mayer.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I originally moved from Texas to Jacksonville in 2015 to flip homes in Florida. I started flipping homes for a few investors and that is when I created my Interior Design Business. My business endeavors brought me to the Orlando market, where I have been working ever since. As a 27-year-old in the industry, it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to continue business through pandemics and politics. Our business integrity and eagerness to create custom designs for clients is what keeps us consistently relevant in the Orlando market.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It is never a smooth road! When owning a business, there are always bumps along the way. Sometimes they are small pebbles and sometimes they are boulders. Either way, you just have to solve the issues, learn, grow, and add it to the list of things you learn along the way!

The short summary is that I am the owner of Elyse Mayer Designs and we specialize in Residential Interior Design in the Orlando Area. The long story is that through hard work, dedication and commitment, I have worked very hard to grow a boutique firm into a blooming business with many happy clients!
We are known for customizing design processes and pricing to truly fit every client’s way of thinking. Not every client sees design the same way, so by customizing each experience, we are able to custom fit the design needs and for each family. Another bonus that makes our business stand out is that we do not force our personal design agendas on clients. Many of our clients noted that other designers they spoke to said that the client gets NO say in what the design looks like! Our job as a boutique firm is to allow our client’s visions to come to life with the professional guidance and edge that makes even the most “unique” of client designs feel curated and bespoke! (And that is NO easy task!)
Lastly, our pricing makes Interior Design accessible for all clients! Unlike other design firms, we are able to customize pricing, budgets and pricing plans to fit our boutique clients. We do not force clients to purchase a minimum amount of furniture from us or force them to ONLY purchase through us. By customizing pricing as well, we are able to allow our clients more flexibility!
All in all, Elyse Mayer Designs strives to customize our design experience for each client to make everyone feel confident in their own design journey!
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I have always been business-minded and independent. I recall, as a kid, creating budgets for business plans such as aquarium cleaning businesses and horseback riding academy’s! I love the ability as Americans to be able to start a business and run with it!
My determination always lead me to be confident in my future, even when the plan was not so solid! Life is a crazy road and you never know what is going to happen around each turn.
