Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabe Treiyer.
Hi Gabe, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and picked up the guitar at 11 years old—spending hours staring at the posters on my wall and dreaming of playing with those same legends one day. After years of grinding in the local band scene, my big break came in 2010 touring South America with Gene Loves Jezebel.
Not long after, I landed the Music Director role for six-time Grammy winner Bobby Kimball of Toto. Stepping onto those arena stages in front of 10,000+ people changed everything. I kept building connections, and one amazing opportunity led to another. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of touring, recording, or performing with icons like Dave Bickler (Survivor), Steve Hackett (Genesis), Bruce Kulick (KISS), Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow), and many more.
Eventually, a recording project brought me back to the U.S., where I joined former Boston lead singer Fran Cosmo. I also served as the Music Director for Icons of Classic Rock, touring alongside classic voices from Santana, Foreigner, Survivor, Quiet Riot, and Boston. Looking back, it’s surreal to think I’m now sharing stages with the very artists who inspired me as a kid. Nowadays, i’m touring nationally with “Classic Albums Live”, and recording an album with a high profile project for Latin America called “Synchro”.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s definitely been a mix of both. On the bright side, some of the biggest opportunities of my life came out of the blue—leading to unforgettable moments playing with my absolute heroes and touring places I’d only ever dreamed of seeing.
The challenge has always been the behind-the-scenes realities: managing egos and dealing with the business end of music, which can be unforgiving. But at the end of the day, those obstacles were the ultimate learning process. Looking at where I am now, I wouldn’t trade the experience—I’m just deeply grateful.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
First and foremost, I’m a guitarist, songwriter, and producer. On top of touring as a guitarist, I often serve as Musical Director—taking charge of band hiring, custom arrangements, and keeping the show running seamlessly at the highest professional level.
Working alongside Toto’s Bobby Kimball was a major turning point in my career. Performing with a six-time Grammy winner and legendary vocalist opened immense doors, but what drives me today is the constant pursuit of excellence.
Success in music isn’t about competition; it’s about authenticity and work ethic. You can always find technical players, but few bring the level of drive, focus, and total dedication that I bring to every single project. I’m fully committed to every aspect of the performance and supporting the team around me—simply because music isn’t just what I do, it’s what I am
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I usually read musicians biopics and watch the behiend the scenes footage from blu-ray concerts. That’s was a HUGE part of the learning process about what to do and most importantly, WHAT NOT TO DO.
