Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabrielle Wilson.
Hi Gabrielle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I started Gems Luxe Picnics almost a year ago (June will be my year mark). I’ve always been into decor and event planning from a young age, and I grew up watching my female family members put on events for other family members and friends and took on the love for it in my own way. It all started when I had my niece and cousin here in Orlando for the summer and it was my cousin’s 14th birthday. I wanted to think of something creative and different… something she’d never done before, and I thought of doing a picnic that wasn’t just any picnic, but a picnic that was memorable and appealing to the eye.
While setting up her picnic at Lake Eola Park, many people started coming over to me asking for my business card and asking what other events I do. At the time, I didn’t have any of those but I had given them my personal IG account to keep them in the loop until I got things up and running.
My business isn’t fully where I want it to be yet but I plan on working hard to get it exactly where I want it in the months to come.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
So far, I wouldn’t say that it has been a super smooth road because running a business while in college can be a little bit of a challenge especially when you have so many plans but little time throughout the days in the week to execute. Either way, I wholeheartedly enjoy what I do and the experience that I and my business have to offer regardless of the struggles I may face.
I’ve gotten so much support from friends, family, and campus organizations and it truly warms my heart to know that I have support.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m currently a waitress at a local restaurant in the UCF area, and I’ve been a server for about 4 years.
