Today we’d like to introduce you to Glashrs.
Hi Glashrs, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I’ve been playing guitar since a little kid from my dad who’s been in bands his whole life, but I had a very timid personality as a kid so performing wasn’t something I was too fond of, but I’ve always loved music, and due to living around I lot I ended up giving it up and gaining a love for video games where I met one of my closest friends who introduced me to hip hop music, and said you should try to make beats since you keep complimenting the beats rather than the artist themselves. It struck my attention so I went on YouTube and looked up FL Studio video and right then and there I fell in love. I slowly shifted from hip hop and merged into EDM and pop because I get bored of things fast so in order to keep learning and an interest, I had to keep expanding my genre taste, but luckily there’s millions of songs out there! I grew out of my shy self and became a pretty social kid so I decided to start my brand Glashrs because I want to be a big name and to do that, I figured EDM would be the best genre to start in because DJ performers are huge. I’ve been writing songs for ever it feels like, and my twin sister Cory is a great vocalist so we started collaborating on tracks, along with our close friends a chase, and Liam from good day who I look up to myself. I don’t wanna stop at EDM because I have a love for the art in general, and my creative process is way to all over the place to stick with one thing, so excited to see what I do in the near future. This is my first year on my journey
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No. Nowhere near smooth actually it’s very stressful mostly because my creative process is all over the place, but I feel that’s the thing about being a true artist is inspiration comes from all over the place, and starting my own DJ brand is tough because it’s a business and I’m young and inexperienced in building an online presence but it’s my dream, and one day it’ll pay off I feel
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I work for a friends e-commerce business which is a great way to learn how to build a business, and it’s always nice being able to talk to someone for some logical advice, plus it’s fun
How do you define success?
Success is what accomplishing what you preserve to be success, so being successful in my opinion is personal and doesn’t have a broad meaning… for me success is winning Grammys and doing what I love and having other people in my field who look up to me
