Today we’d like to introduce you to Howard Gumbs Jr.
Hi Howard, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Howard Gumbs Jr. I am the Founder and President of Howard G Cigars. I’ve been a cigar enthusiast for over 18 years. In 2020 we launched HGC and now we are in 33 states and 2 countries at the moment. We have a brand based on true love for the leaf and the relationships cigars have helped create worldwide. We have different series from our Black Moses Series, Magic Stick Series, All Pro Series including Cigars for NFL Legends Ike Taylor and Leon Searcy. Last we have our Golf Series called The Perfect Round where we have a cigar for the Front 9 and Back 9 and recently releasing the Scramble which is a mixture of both with a barber pole wrapper. As a Manufacturer we don’t have a brick and mortar store so we sell to our retail partners and create brand awareness for them by hosting events and getting the product in the hands of consumers.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In business there are always obstacles but one of the main reasons i named our flagship product Black Moses is because like others in business we have obstacles that arise but instead of focusing on the obstacle i like to part through my obstacles like Moses parted through the Red Sea…..
I also believe that “only the strong survive and the weak shall fall by the wayside”
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As the Founder and President of Howard G Cigars it is my focus to show other members of the team the vision for the year and the plan ahead to continue to grow the brand and also creating new products for our existing product lines and coming up with new blends etc. I’m most proud of our brand support that we receive worldwide..
