Rising Stars: Meet Jackson Toth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jackson Toth

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My start is like so many others I was just a young boy from Pine Hills that started writing poetry and found out I had a talent for it. Over the years as a kid I always dreamed of a life like Elvis, Sinatra, Dean Martin and how they revolutionized music for the world and I always dreamed of being at the forefront of that. And now here I am at 24 years old and I’m making that dream a reality. It has been a long and hard journey and we’re not even close to the starting line yet but soon once we get a labels attention we will make history around the world.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
You know the struggles as an artist are difficult from being self funded, to living in a city where ur biggest support comes from other city and states besides your own, and not getting the respect or recognition you deserve. The biggest problem I face now is being self funded while trying to survive. Music has put me to the test every song costs around 200$ to make so the album: Interstellar I’m working on now will cost around 2,000$ before promo, music videos, and marketing. It’s very difficult to have no financial backers and still pay the rent on time put food on the table and try and make your music into a successful business. But we sacrifice everything for the dream and hope that the dreams become the reality.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As of now I have been doing free shows around Orlando and Florida to get the people back involved in the music community and get them into my music also. I have so much love for my city I just want to be able to put the city and the people I love so much on so we all can make it together. I get tired of being blowing up and becoming famous and then forget where they came from and the city they loved. I’m from Pine Hills and I respect the artists who have grown so much since I was a kid and who still put on for Pine Hills and Orlando. Honestly I hope I’m known for my captivating beats and my intriguing lyrics. Most people miss on the lyrics and don’t really take time to understand the meaning behind everything. I just hope this interview and my music eventually impacts someone else who’s a rookie in the music industry and who’s putting every dollar into their songs knowing they probably won’t be famous but they will never give up on their dream. I’m most proud of my love for others and the love and passion I have for my tracks. This city breathes life into everything and without the city we have nothing we need to come together in order to make our home a place worth fighting for. I think my music speaks for myself and puts me in a category of my own I am like no one else and no one will be like me I am a once in a generational talent and I will continue to travel down this road wherever it takes.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I have traveled to other states on a prayer and a wing that a label will see me as the investment I am and the future I have. The truth is these labels don’t want someone like me they want someone to sell sex, drugs, and violence to our kids and our world. I just want to bring the change our world desperately needs. I want to be the hope and inspiration that leads people back to God and Jesus and gets our communities back on track. The world has changed so much in the past few years for the worse and we might never save the world we ruined but we can try. I take bigger and bigger risks everyday hoping that eventually one day a label will sign me and I will go on to win every Grammy and Dove award I can until the day I die.
