Today we’d like to introduce you to Janessa Carratala.
Hi Janessa, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
It was 2017 when I first began my journey of documenting my love of Disney, and all things travel. I remember when I first began following so many amazing creators that are still continuing their own journeys and who have grown to be such an inspiration for me. It took a lot of engaging with others and truly stepping out of my comfort zone… I was never one for photos, so starting this Instagram account was a bit scary at first.
I took every fun moment and created a memory that I could share with others, and I feel as though social media is truly an electronic scrapbook that allows us to bond with others from all parts of the world.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have been moments where I felt the urge to give up… Falling into the comparisons to others and not feeling as confident in myself as I should be. It is so easy to do this; a simple photo can alter the way you see yourself and the aspects of your life when in reality, it’s such an unhealthy thing to do. You can never allow yourself to feel lesser than others, and you have to always count every single blessing in your life.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am currently a recruiter for the Westgate Resorts here in Orlando. I work out of the Villas property, which is our flagship and the largest of all our properties across the nation. It is something I never imagined myself in, and yet I have grown to love it incredibly. It allows me to meet all kinds of new people and opens up opportunities I might not even realize are waiting for me.
Being on a team of so many other wonderful recruiters, it is so easy to feel like a family, and coming into this position at a difficult time in my life it has been one of the best moves in my career path I have ever made.
I am a team player who strives to always do my very best in every possible way.
What are your plans for the future?
As of right now, I am hoping to travel more and see more of the world. My job allows me ample opportunities to see places I have never visited but have always wanted to.
I also plan to document these travels, in hopes of sharing my fun and exciting moments with the rest of the world and perhaps inspire others to travel, as well.
There has also been talks of starting a family of my own, so that is also something that will most certainly be the biggest change of all!
