Rising Stars: Meet Jessica Proteau

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Proteau.

Hi Jessica, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I am originally from Virginia and back in 2014 I decided to do the Disney College program. I met my husband during the program so we decided to stay in Florida and got married. We had our first son in 2018 and moved back home to Virginia. 2 years later we moved back to Florida and were expecting our second child. I have always been into social media (Instagram and Facebook) During the pandemic I got into TikTok as everyone did. I really got serious at a Disney creator on socials in 2021. I bring my boys to the Disney parks at least 2-3 times a week. Disney has become our way of life truly.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We have had lots of struggles mainly with finances, and it is a dream of mine to be a full-time content creator and sometimes that dream get shot down quick. I feel like the struggles of social media on mental health are definitely real as much as I try to think they aren’t. Also, I have a huge dream of starting my own business of princess parties (I was hired by one in Virginia). I hope in the next couple of years to make that dream a reality.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I currently work part-time for Disney in a restaurant. My proudest moment has been becoming a trainer at my location. I have worked for Disney 3 different times and have never been a trainer.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Truly I could use professional photographers to help with photos and videos, I film so much content in the parks using my stroller as a tripod. The other way to support is just following me on social media so I can get the following so I can start making money.
