Rising Stars: Meet Jordann Graham of Eustis Florida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordann Graham.

Hi Jordann, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey into photography comes from a very personal place. My childhood was not the worst but it was not always the best. My mom has been in my life since the day I was born and she has always loved me, but like many families we had seasons where we did not always get along. When I was a teenager I spent a few years living with my grandma who was the woman who partly raised me and helped shape the person I became. Those years with her gave me stability and guidance that I will always be grateful for.
After I moved out and started building my own life I met my fiancé and we eventually moved into our first apartment. Not long after that we found out we were expecting our first daughter. The day before I was supposed to be induced my grandma went into the hospital with Covid and she never came home again.
The next day I gave birth while grieving the loss of the woman who had helped raise me. It was one of the hardest moments of my life, feeling the deepest pain and the greatest joy at the exact same time. Becoming a mother while losing someone so important to me forced me to see life in a completely new way. For fourteen beautiful months we loved our daughter with everything we had. She was joyful, bright, and the center of our world. When she passed away due to sudden unexplained causes our entire life shattered. That loss changed my heart, my purpose, and the way I look at every single moment.
About 8 months later we found out we were going to be welcoming our second daughter whose name honors both my grandma and her sister. Becoming a mother again while holding so much grief made me realize how few photos we had of the people we loved. We never had real family pictures or many clear images because we could not afford them at the time. That regret stayed with me and became the reason I started my photography journey.
At first I began with boudoir photography. As a mom learning to love a new body I wanted to empower myself and other women who felt the same way. I knew many mothers struggled to feel confident and comfortable, so I created a small side business focused on helping women feel proud of themselves in front of the camera. I also knew how expensive boudoir sessions usually are. Many women want to gift something beautiful and meaningful to their spouse, and I never felt it was right for people to spend an arm and a leg just to celebrate one of the most natural and beautiful thing God created which is our bodies. I wanted to make that experience accessible to everyone.
Over time many of my clients began asking if I could also take their family photos. I hesitated at first, but eventually I asked myself why not do it all and why not give everyone the chance to have the photos they want and deserve. That decision opened the door to the work I do today.
I built my business to help families save their memories forever without worrying about cost. I invested in learning and in equipment and focused on creating warm emotional sessions that every family can access. Today my business is built on love, on the moments we can never get back, and on the belief that everyone deserves beautiful photos. Every session I capture reminds me why I started and it is what brought me to where I am today.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. I have struggled a lot with imposter syndrome and learning to believe in myself. In the beginning I questioned whether my photos were good enough and whether I belonged in this industry at all. I also did a lot of “ reshoots” because I felt they didn’t love them Even when clients say they loved their images I still doubted myself and overthought every detail.
Finding confidence in my work has been one of my biggest challenges, but each session has helped me grow. The struggles have taught me patience, courage, and trust in my own talent, and they remind me why I started this journey in the first place.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a photographer who focuses on warm natural light and real emotion. I started with boudoir because I wanted to empower women, and my work grew into families, couples, maternity, lifestyle, and children when clients asked for more. I love creating a relaxed comfortable experience so people feel confident and natural in front of the camera.
What sets me apart is the heart behind my work. My business was built from love and loss and from knowing how important photos truly are. I make my sessions affordable because everyone deserves memories they can keep forever. I am most proud of the way my photos make people feel and the fact that I can give families moments they will cherish for a lifetime.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
My biggest advice is to use the resources that are already out there. I learned so much from watching other professionals on Google, TikTok, and YouTube. There is endless free education from photographers who share their tips, lighting tricks, editing workflows, and business advice. It helped me grow fast and gave me confidence when I did not have a mentor yet.
