Today we’d like to introduce you to Jorge Arslanian.
Hi Jorge, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m a Spanish voiceover artist, I run my marketing agency Green Mug Media Group and, I’m the founder of @quepasaenorlando.
I moved from Venezuela back in 2014 due to some political issues, and of course to give my family a better future in this amazing country.
I did radio for almost 20 years back in Venezuela, that’s my habitat in a way. Growing up, I was always in that environment. However, since I never got hired from any stations, I decided to create things here. For example, @quepasaenorlando. This Instagram account was my first project in this country. And I never thought in a million years that this little crocodile would give me so many opportunities. Anyways, let’s leave something for the interview, lol.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m an immigrant. My father was an immigrant and his father as well. So, we are used to facing struggle, it’s all about the attitude you face it with. I had many jobs that I didn’t like but never lost motivation. To be honest, I am proud and grateful to be in the position I am today.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a Spanish voice over artist, my specializes are commercials, IVR, and audiobooks. Besides that, I’m a podcaster, my two podcasts are Nothin” but ska which is in English and my other one El Skaparate which is in Spanish. Right now, I’m in love with making podcast episodes because I’ve met many amazing people which I never expected to meet and brings me back to my radio days in Venezuela. I’m really proud that in only a couple of years, I’ve come so far. My motto is to be yourself. It doesn’t matter whether you fit in or not and be faithful to your instincts. This sets me apart from others.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something surprising that most people who know me or my work/brand might not know about me is that I’m extremely homey. Even though I have to be very social in my job, I love spending time alone. I respect other people’s privacy so that they respect mine as well.
