Today we’d like to introduce you to Karisma Hernandez.
Hi Karisma, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, you could tell our readers some of your backstory.
Passion and hard work will get you anywhere you want to be, but networking can get you in places you couldn’t have even dreamed of! I was an office manager in the medical field, but I always wanted to work in marketing and social media. The opportunity appeared, so I took a leap of faith (a pay cut) and went for it! I learned so much and gained experience in many different areas of marketing. Now, I can offer marketing and content creation services to businesses with much knowledge and expertise and pursue other business ventures. And I’m so blessed to have the most supportive partner, family, and friends who encourage me daily to keep creating content and pursuing entrepreneurship.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, and like any journey and everyone’s life, the path isn’t linear. Some ups and downs and things come into play, like mental health, traumatic events, and so many other things that can get in the way sometimes, but ultimately, you have to GO through and then PUSH through these things. I talk about it a lot on my YouTube channel, but my ADHD has negatively impacted my life for so long that I had no idea but now I’m trying to manage it better and turn it into a positive and see the good in it as well as learn to work with it.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Being a multi-passionate creative, I used to be so caught off guard every time I got this question because I do many different things like photography, content creation, marketing, modeling, event hosting, etc. Still, the one thing that brings everything I do together is the fact that I love helping people in whatever way, whether it’s helping them build their brand on socials, inspiring people to go after their dreams as I have, teaching people something, or connecting them with other creatives through the events and workshops I’ve hosted. Everything else I do and have done is ultimately for others.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was a smart kid who always followed the rules, “teacher’s pet,” ahead of my age. I’ve always loved YouTube. I’ve been creating YouTube videos since I was around 8 or 9 years old. I had a MySpace and Tumblr, and I loved coding my pages and posting my photos and edits there. As a kid, I always had a camera; I remember my first pink digital camera and taking it everywhere. I have had the same interests my whole life. It’s crazy.
