Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Laurent.
Kayla, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My Art career went from a hidden talent that I didn’t want anyone to know about to “Okay, I’ll be moving soon and I need some decorations”! At the start of COVID-19, I was preparing to move into my next apartment and I had little to no decorations but I figured if I could draw maybe I could paint! Yeah, I thought wrong! It was definitely challenging! After I completed the paintings, I posted them on social media and a few of my followers began to show interest in something I thought was “okay for my first try”. From there it evolved from a COVID hobby to THOROUGHLY KREATED LLC! It took a lot of consistency, sleepless nights, research and planning!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Not at all!! You have to be able to fight even when everything around you is crashing and burning! Starting a business comes with rewarding highs but also some gut punching lows. There are times when sales are up and business is great. I have also experienced times when I couldn’t get not one sale. It was also challenging trying to keep up with social media and figuring out how to get my art out there.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a full time artist and the CEO of Thoroughly Kreated LLC! I am a muralist, mixed media artist, digital artist 3-D painter and I specialize in Digital Art. I am most proud of my drive and creativity! What sets me apart from others is being me! There is no one that can create like someone else. Just being me is unique! Every artist has their own style and eye for creativity.
