Rising Stars: Meet Kylee Shaye

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kylee Shaye.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always felt that I have a bigger purpose in life than to do the mediocre things that are expected of us— work a job you tolerate to pay the bills, settle down, subscribe to the scheduled programming… I’ve been resistant to participate in society the way that I’m “supposed to.” I see the world as a place we have all come to learn unconditional love, to grow into better versions of ourselves, and to help others. I hope my story inspires those who feel the same way that I do to keep moving forward in search and practice of what sets our soul on fire and allows us to spread the most light to others. As an adolescent, I was very self-conscious, insecure, and depressed. and I hid behind a mask. This was confusing for me because I thought I had a really good childhood. I grew up in a middle-class family with a mother who was very loving, thoughtful, and affectionate. My father worked a lot and was emotionally absent, but he did his best and I’m grateful for everything that my parents have sacrificed for me to have a better life than they did.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in social work from Florida State University, which is when my perspective and mindset began to shift. I learned about my own biases and prejudices, which expanded my self-awareness. I also learned that everyone experiences life differently depending upon our upbringing and environment and that these things determine the types of people we will become and the quality of our relationships. The more I learned about human behavior, psychology, programming, and spiritual healing, the more I was pulled to look at myself and my own life. In 2017 I started to make my mental and physical health a priority and did a lot of personal development, shadow work, and journaling to process my emotions and experiences. I took time to start healing from my past traumas and wounds. I’ve tried so hard to find where I fit in and what I can do to feel happy and fulfilled.

For a while after college, I wasn’t listening. I wasn’t connecting to my soul or listening to my intuition. Deep down, I knew I was a creator, a healer, and an entrepreneur, yet I kept forcing myself to work unfulfilling jobs. Flash forward to the present day: I listen to my intuition. I started using my gifts to help others. I also get to do other things I’m passionate about, like photography and videography. I started investing in myself and hired a spiritual teacher who gave me an akashic reading and business coaching. This helped me gain clarity around my gifts and how I could use them in a career. Society has programmed us to limit and doubt ourselves, to label ourselves and live through our egos, but I’m choosing to step out of that box and do the things I’m called to do. I’m in the process of creating an online course to help guide and support those who are going through the same soul-searching journey that I went through. I don’t think healing and learning to love yourself and your life should be so confusing or frustrating and I want to help make it easier for others. I’m looking forward to seeing what I am capable of this year. I’ve finally stepped into my power, into light and love, and use my gifts to help the world heal. I believe that the more tools we have in our toolboxes, the better equipped we are to create our own success and a life we are proud to live.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been an easy road but I am aware of how fortunate I am for the opportunities I’ve been given. I’ve struggled with self-doubt, anxiety and depression since I was young. It took a lot of personal development, journaling, reprogramming, shadow work, and professional guidance to get my mindset right. I’ve learned that mindset is everything, so I’ve spent years learning about and improving the way my mind works. I’ve been abandoned, betrayed, scammed, ridiculed, and bullied, but I’ve allowed myself to find the lesson within all of those experiences. I still struggle with my mental health at times, but the woman I am today is so much healthier and happier than who I used to be, and for that, I am proud of myself.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a spiritual guide and mindset counselor. I help people who experience anxiety and depression heal past trauma and improve their mindset so they can feel inner peace and take control of their lives and emotions. I’m currently creating an incredible and affordable online course for those who want to self-heal in a safe space. I specialize in anxiety, depression, and trauma and use a range of therapeutic practices, energy work, and healing techniques depending on each unique client’s needs.

My heart and insight are what set me apart from others in my field. I truly care for others and love being a source of support for those who struggle to do it on their own. I know from first-hand experience how scary and confusing it is to face your own trauma, anxiety or depression. I create a space for others to feel safe in their own skin, supported in their goals and dreams, and loved no matter who they are or what they’ve done. And I think that is what the world needs more of less judgment and more love and understanding. I have an objective perspective of both the mental health industry and the online spiritual community. Both may be trying their best but are flawed and have the potential to do more harm than good. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from people in both industries because it gave me a unique ability to guide the healing process. I’m not a guru or a mind-reader, but I am passionate about helping people heal and supporting them in achieving their goals.

What are your plans for the future?
My plans are to continue to cultivate a life that I’m proud of and to help as many people as I can. I plan to grow my online counseling and spiritual healing practice internationally. I am looking forward to finding a place I can call home for the long-term and to travel and experience the world as much as possible. In the future, I would like to start a charity for trauma survivors and mental health research.
