Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Kandle Kemistry Co. sparked to life during a season when I was over spending money on candles that smelled amazing on the shelf, but once lit—disappointment. I’ve always loved the feeling of walking into a clean home that smells divine—it sets the mood, lifts your spirit, and makes you want to kick your shoes off and just exhale. So one day I had a lightbulb moment:
“What if I made my own?”
I went down the YouTube rabbit hole, soaked up all the knowledge, and started experimenting. At first, it was just for me. But the more I created, the more I realized—this was bigger than a hobby. This was my passion. And I knew I couldn’t be the only one who wanted fragrance that actually performed. So I took a leap of faith—and just like that, Kandle Kemistry Co. was born.
The name? That’s all me. I used a “K” in Kandle for Karla, and Kemistry with a K because mixing wax and fragrance is truly a beautiful kind of science.
I originally started with candles—but after nearly a year of wick-testing woes, I pivoted. Why not go flameless and fabulous? That’s when wax melt crumbles entered the chat. Not your average cube—these crumbles last longer, hit stronger, and look cuter while doing it. Then came room and linen sprays, because your space should smell amazing without a flame.
The cherry on top? Butterflies. Not just because they’re gorgeous (though… hello? Have you seen them?), but because they represent transformation, growth, and beauty—everything this journey has meant to me. I’ve grown as a woman, as a business owner, and as a creative force. And just like butterflies, my fragrances transform any room into a whole vibe.

On June 11, I proudly celebrated 2 years in business—and every single product I make is handcrafted with heart, soul, and a sprinkle of sass.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Let’s be real—this journey hasn’t been all butterflies and easy breezes.
Building Kandle Kemistry Co. has come with its fair share of bumps, detours, and late-night “what am I even doing?” moments. In the beginning, it was especially hard. When you’re new, it’s tough getting people to believe in your vision—and sometimes I still feel that struggle. But I keep showing up anyway.
Financially? Whew. Let’s talk about it. I work full-time, and that check has been my investor—funding this dream one paycheck at a time while juggling bills, life, and everything in between. It’s been sacrifice after sacrifice. There were markets I wanted to do, events I wanted to show up for, but the funds just weren’t there. So I leaned into what I could do—online sales, one order at a time, one supporter at a time.
Marketing? Another mountain. I don’t have a team, a coach, or a playbook—just passion and Google. I’ve done what I could with what I knew, and while sales haven’t always been consistent, my faith and fire have never wavered.
This business is my heart. And no matter how hard it gets, I’m not giving up. I move when I can, how I can—but always forward. Because Kandle Kemistry Co. was built with purpose, and I know someone out there needs exactly what I’m creating.
So yeah, the road’s been rocky—but I’m still rolling. 🦋
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
By day, I work full-time as a Data Processing Specialist at AdventHealth University—a role I’ve proudly held for the past 13 years. With associate degrees in both Accounting and Business Administration, I’ve been blessed to carry skills from my 9–5 straight into my 5–forever: running Kandle Kemistry Co.
Once the workday ends, it’s go time. I shift into full small business mode—packing and shipping orders, answering emails, managing social media, restocking inventory, and doing all the behind-the-scenes magic to keep Kandle Kemistry flowing. When stock runs low, I spend weekends creating new batches of wax melt crumbles and sprays with care, creativity, and a whole lot of butterfly energy.
My wax melt crumbles are the main character—bold, bright, and beautifully scented. But it’s the butterfly-inspired vibe, the vibrant colors, and the message of transformation that really sets my brand apart. Kandle Kemistry Co. is rooted in purpose—faith, beauty, and the power of evolving into something greater.
What I’m most proud of? The heartfelt feedback I receive from my customers. It reminds me that I am making an impact, even if I don’t have a massive spotlight—yet.
Because here’s the truth: I haven’t given up, and I won’t. Even when it’s quiet. Even when eyes aren’t on me. I believe—deep down, no doubt about it—that my time to shine brighter than ever is coming. And until then?
I’m gonna keep showing up, keep pushing forward, and keep letting my light (and fragrance) fly. 🦋
