Today we’d like to introduce you to Lanh Nguyen Balagtas.
Hi Lanh, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today? As most photographers, I started my photography journey doing everything. I soon found that my passion was truly in celebrating moms. I love photographing moms and allowing them to see the beauty in the motherhood journey. From pregnancy to generational photoshoots, capturing moms in every stage of parenthood brings me joy. Moms are the heart and soul of a family. They sacrifice so much and sometimes forget to celebrate themselves. By creating photos that document families as both the kids and moms grow and change is something I love doing. I love pampering moms, photographing them, and creating images for them that they are proud of. A representation of the path they are on and the woman they’re becoming. Little reminders that this motherhood journey is beautiful.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far? Once I found my passion for celebrating moms and my niche with motherhood photography, it was easy to craft an experience that I loved offering and that clients loved having. Just like everything in life, you find joy in things that you are passionate about. The most challenging part of my photography journey was seeing and embracing that this (motherhood photography) was my calling.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others? I’m a maternity and motherhood photographer helping moms see the beauty in their motherhood journey. I capture photos of moms during their pregnancy and with their babies. I also specialize in generational photoshoots of kids with their moms, grandmas, and great grandmas.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck? I’ve worked hard to create an experience for moms that celebrates them. I’ve researched and taken classes to better my craft. I’ve also learned the marketing aspects of running a photography business. I’m constantly learning. So, no, luck has not played a role in my business because I’ve put in the work necessary to offer a photography experience that attracts moms that love and appreciate my work.
