Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Quintana

Hi Lisa, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I took a SUP Yoga class in 2009 and I fell in love. Fast forward to 2022 I discovered that the SUP Yoga training being offered and I decided to get certified. I am a school teacher in Florida and my areas chain of lakes was the perfect backdrop to my SUP Yoga business. My first official class was the summer of 2023. Mossy Paddle Clermont was born. Season starts in June, once school is out and runs until the Fall.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Our first summer was slow moving. Mostly friends and family joined for our SUP Yoga sessions. I offered many “free” classes to get customers on the water. There were zero profits that summer. The first summer was bring your own board since I did not have paddle board equipment. But the summer of 2024 I was able to offer rental equipment for a wider customer audience allowing for more business and profits.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I was SUP certified in 2022. I have been around the water since 1996 as a Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor. Years later I taught water aerobics and even ran the Aquatics department of a Summer Camp for two summers in New England. I have always been drawn to the water and seek it out every summer while school is out. I have certifications in both Introduction to Stand Up Paddle boarding and Stand up paddle board yoga. My classes are adaptable and for people of all ages and swim abilities. I have taught classes with teenagers to grandmothers and all in between. Our classes are 90 minutes long and never the same. Many frequent customers love the variety and adaptability offered in my classes.
