Today we’d like to introduce you to Lyndsay Loveland
Hi Lyndsay, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My family moved here to the Orlando area going on 3 years ago! We moved here from North Carolina where I owned a dance studio for 15 years. We fell in love with Winter Garden on one of our many Disney trips. We were just curious what kind of places there were around Disney World and Winter Garden stole our hearts! I am a life long Disney fan and we came to visit Disney multiple times of year so it only made sense to move here when we found such a great place just down the street from Mickey! I was battling some health issues and needed a change of pace, I was also just ready for the next chapter of life. Once we got here I realized how much I love sharing my love for Disney and started my blog, Dancing to Disney! It started as just something fun for me and has turned onto over 4,000 subscribers that get my blog in their email each week. Social media has played a big role in building my blog audience but also in building a community of other Disney adults who have become great friends! Writing the blog each week and sharing fun stuff on social media has become like therapy for me and has added an extra layer to my love for all things dancing and Disney!!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely had its ups and downs! As I mentioned, I was battling some health issues before we moved from North Carolina and I knew major life change would be the best medicine. Healing was top priority when we got here and being so close to my happy place really helped. The transition was not easy for my oldest son, he had a rough first year here but thankfully is thriving now. As far as the blog goes, there are still some weeks that are better than others. I have not quite figured out what makes it tick just yet but it’s fun in the meantime! It has been an adventure figuring out a new rhythm here but mostly it has been good!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I wear a lot of different hats…..kind of like the animatronic in Pirates of the Caribbean! I write the blog and stay active on that social media channel and that is all just fun and lots of Disney magic. I try to write with more of a POV perspective rather than just tips and tricks. I love doing random fun things in the parks and writing about those since they are things you might miss if you are here on vacation. But I am also still dancing, teaching at local studios, traveling to studios out of state and touring with a dance competition as a judge, teacher and backstage coordinator. I am also a certified Functional Nutritionist registered with the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and specializing in picky eaters. I can also plan your Disney vacation for you as a travel agent and I work in customer service with one of my favorite brands, Corkcicle! So not a dull moment and lots going on. I think the thing that makes me unique is that I have a lot of passions and try to pour into each one in different ways. I also include my family in just about everything I do. My husband of 23 years and my two boys are the ones that keep me going for sure!
What’s next?
I am excited for all the amazing changes coming to the Disney Parks and sharing those with all my readers. I am trying to be more focused in 2025 with my content for the blog. I want to experience more in the parks and bring that excitement to my social media and blog. There is possibly a podcast in the works but nothing set in stone yet! In 2024 we made our first trip to Disneyland so we are hoping to check another Disney location off the list in 2025!
