Today we’d like to introduce you to Mackenzie Newton.
Hi Mackenzie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Of course! I started modeling in 2017. My first show was the Orlando African Fashion show & I just kind of hit the ground running from there. I’ve trained with RIF & Wendell Jean-Pierre & his team. With God leading me, I probably have done between 15-25 fashion shows. Some of those ranging from Orlando International Fashion Week, to The 5th Annual Traveling Fashion Showcase by Bella Faire Event Productions this year.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes & no.
Some of the struggles I’ve dealt with were dealing with unprofessional designers & makeup artists. It’s unfortunate but it happens sometimes. All I can do is control how I respond & how I carry myself.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a freelance runway & print model. I specialize in the European walk & Urban walk. I also sing as well. I’m definitely more known for modeling than music, although it is my first passion & I have a BA in music.
I’m most proud of being a published model & having the opportunity to represent some wonderful designers & companies. What sets me apart from others is no one has a graceful walk like I do. I don’t just walk, I glide.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as achieving the goals that you set for yourself. No matter what they are nor how long they take, achieving them & being proud of yourself for doing that. I’m big on clapping for yourself & being confident.
