Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariana Salazar
Hi Mariana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Mariana Andrea Salazar Bolívar, a 26-year-old from Venezuela. In November 2020, I made the life-changing decision to leave my country and family behind, driven by the dream of building a home, finding happiness, and living freely in the United States.
The journey hasn’t been easy. My first job left me emotionally drained. Despite doing an excellent job and exceeding expectations, it was never enough for them. They constantly manipulated me, using emotional pressure to push me further. Eventually, I decided to leave to prioritize my well-being and start over.
I began cleaning houses, a humbling experience that helped me rebuild my confidence. Eventually, I found a role at a company I admire, with a positive work environment and exceptional products. Along the way, I discovered my passion for plants. They brought me healing and joy, turning my home into a space of peace and stability.
Now, I work with a clear vision for the future: to open a plant and coffee business in Orlando. This dream represents my growth, resilience, and commitment to creating something meaningful in my new home.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Yes, by being by myself in a new country without my family or friends I was struggling with a lot of depression, anxiety and body shaming because I was so lonely and eating was the only thing that made me feel full when I was feeling empty inside.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a people’s person and I enjoy being able to help my customers at work. I specialize in customer service, sales, marketing and management. I am proud of myself for being able to achieve everything that I have right now. And I would say what sets me apart from others is my resilience, determination, and ability to turn challenges into opportunities for growth. Despite starting over in a new country and facing difficult circumstances, I’ve managed to rebuild my life with confidence and purpose. My passion for plants and creating a peaceful, meaningful space reflects my unique ability to find beauty and joy even in tough situations.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I am really good at singing and dancing!!
