Today we’d like to introduce you to Mercedes Valencia.
Hi Mercedes, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey began with a personal challenge—my sensitive skin. Fueled by my background in pharmacy, I ventured into creating my own skincare solutions, blending scientific knowledge with holistic practices. This led to the birth of my brand, where I crafted products infused with love and healing intentions, not just for aesthetic improvement but for deeper, inner health.
As I shared my creations and insights, my role expanded beyond just a skincare artisan to a celebrity aesthetician, educator, and a voice for mental health awareness. My podcast and social media platforms have become spaces where I connect with others on self-love, wellness, and beauty, influencing and being influenced by a wonderful community of followers.
Throughout, I’ve maintained a calm, cool persona, driven by a passion to help others achieve skincare and wellness goals. My approach has always been about authenticity and gentle effectiveness, traits that have guided me to where I am today in the beauty and wellness industry.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been an easy journey, but it has been incredibly rewarding. In a market that’s oversaturated, finding a way to stand out has been crucial. I’ve embraced each challenge as a ‘lesson’ rather than a ‘loss.’ Along the way, I’ve had to distinguish between fair-weather friends and those who genuinely support my vision, which has only cleared the path for more meaningful relationships. Being away from family is tough, but the opportunities to travel and meet new people have been priceless. Without a formal business education, I’ve navigated my way through the beauty industry, finding my niche. Though I do fewer facials now, I’m grateful for the chance to educate and empower others, making a lasting impact in a way that feels true to who I am.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As a celebrated aesthetician and beauty influencer, my work spans various facets of skincare and wellness. I specialize in holistic skincare treatments, blending high-tech tools like the Zemits devices with traditional techniques for transformative results. Influenced deeply by my mentor, Shani Darden, I stand distinct in the beauty industry. Beyond my professional achievements, what I’m most proud of are my children. The example I set by pursuing my dreams and working hard teaches them the value of passion and perseverance.
I am known for blending innovative treatments with heartfelt care, making each client’s experience uniquely empowering. Being recognized as one of the 100 rising stars of the Threads community, along with partnerships with major platforms like Meta, highlights my impact and dedication. As a Zemits ambassador, I promote cutting-edge skincare technology, further establishing my role as an educator and practitioner in this dynamic field.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is being a good mother, wife, daughter, friend, and sister, and adding value to every interaction I have. I strive to make people love who they are when they are around me, leaving them and everything I touch better than I found it. I am passionate about helping people love their skin and teaching them to be their own beauty professionals, so we can all master ourselves. Ultimately, I want to make God proud by using all the talents He blessed me with to their fullest potential.
