Hi Michelle, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My photography journey began with the birth of my first daughter about eight years ago. By simply taking pictures with my phone. Then, I got my first camera, and things continued to grow from there. That passion I had for taking pictures of my family turned into capturing these stories for others and their families. It is my creative outlet and something I couldn’t live without. Truly my heart and passion. I believe the Lord has blessed me with this gift and continues to grow in me the desire to share with others. As a storyteller, it is amazing to be able to capture a part of my client’s stories! Their raw, authentic moments of connection and love. Something to look back on and treasure.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Gave birth to two beautiful children. My mother-in-law passed away, and we were very close. And a few months ago, I was diagnosed with a degenerative disc disease. I began to worry. I have been blessed with this gift for a reason and refuse to let a diagnosis stop me from creating and sharing the stories of joy, love and connection that I am honored to capture with my lens.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a storyteller, I love to capture people’s stories, raw, real moments of connection to look back on. Moments of joy and fun at the beach. Hugs of a mama and her babe. Capturing a piece of families stories.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Not at this time, but I use a mask and people’s safety are always my top priority.
