Today we’d like to introduce you to Naysha Hernandez.
Hi Naysha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always loved the beauty industry. Doing my makeup as a teen was my form of escape. Just me and my brushes locked in my room creating, taking it off then re-doing it was my therapy.
This took me to be so hooked, I continued to learn and this way became a self-taught artist. As years went by although I doubted my talent, I opened up a page to show my work to the world. With my family’s support, I continued to grow and then fell in love with artistic/ fantasy type makeup.
I now do this day in and day out to continue to learn and grow. Have faith that one day, I will make it big and teach other young girls to fight for what they want, what they love, and to pursue their passion. No matter how many bumps in the road I know we can all achieve our dreams with determination.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been far from smooth. It takes a lot of time and energy. Lots of “no’s” that might bring you down and at times some mental and physical strain. But it’s things that you can overcome.
There will be a lot of other doors that open and knowing when to take “that break” you can make a lot happen without breaking down. You learn a lot along the road and manage everything according to your personal life. Especially being a mom and wife.
Nothing is ever impossible if you keep in mind where you want to get to.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I do professional makeup and artistic/fantasy makeup as well. I specialize in creating different types of art in my face. There’s something about transforming myself into different characters and drawings that keep me going. I can sit for hours and days creating with no hesitation.
It truly makes me happy. I also like doing weddings, birthdays, parties, and any other occasion makeup for my ladies. There’s something so special about seeing them look at themselves with that extra sparkle and feeling beautiful. I’m proud of how far I’ve come although doubting myself at first. Especially, when you don’t have that support from people you thought you would.
I believe what sets me apart from others is the way I love for others to grow with me. To help with anything, I can and to see your heart first before anything else. We all have a background and there’s nothing more beautiful than to be together giving each other a hand to succeed and make it.
