Today we’d like to introduce you to Paola Guzman
Hi Paola , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Saying that I love taking pictures Is an understatement. Ever since as long as I can remember there was always something about capturing a beautiful scenery and admiring what God has blessed us with that simply brought me peace. Reflecting back in my younger years I realized I was looking for an outlet. I searched so deeply to find what it is that I enjoyed doing but couldn’t figure it out. Not too long after I graduated college and had a whole “plan” for myself, I gave birth to my son Aiden. With this new upcoming stage I had to stay home and let my fiancé handle the bills which would mean he would work 2-3 jobs at a time . I would get so lonely and feel like I wasn’t doing anything for myself but than it hit me! I started taking a lot of pictures of my son and than eventually started calling them photoshoots. As time went by I would make props and would plan a once a month outing idea for me and my boys to take pictures. Whether it was a park, or the beach we were taking pictures and I was posting away! The best part was, people would start reposting my photos or commenting really nice things making me feel like “okayyy I got this”. I than started building my platform and although I don’t have the most followers, I love sharing about my life. I like the idea of inspiring others and showing places to go to that are beautiful and fun but also beautiful to your pocket haha. I love sharing the things I do so other moms can live life too. Despite all the bad things going on in our life we had our family photoshoots to look forward to which led not only me but my fiancé Joseph to get out there and post without shame. Now my son is turning 5 and I can gratefully say, coming from nothing and having to build it up I now own a business with my soon to be husband. We travel when we have the time and always remember that everyday is a gift , that’s why it’s called the present. See we need to take a step back and take in the beauty all around us because there’s more to life then the bad things that happen to us. Our world has beauty and that’s why I love taking pictures of sceneries all around me. I’m making it my mission to go all over Florida and see ALL the beautiful places it has to offer and remembering EVERYDAY IS A BLESSING.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If I said that this was easy I’d be lying . I’ve always been very insecure about myself and when I had my son I had a lot of weight gain which if I’m going to be completely honest im still working on today, But I can say that when I do take that leap of faith and post what I feel like is good enough, I’d like to believe that maybe somewhere I’m helping someone else take that leap too.A lot of days my fiancé would be working on our business after working long hours so with that I had to come to terms with myself and say I wanna push myself to do what makes me happy and take advantage of the time I have being home. Now we are both working and praying that we get to the predicament we want to be in to give our son the best life we can.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
With almost all my friends and family I’m known as the “photographer”. I love taking pictures of everyone and everything. I love creating videos with my family so they all tease me saying I’m “the influencer of the family” which I don’t mind at all. I just wanna influence and help others to see life in a better light and just enjoy it to the max there’s so much we miss out on when we focus on the ring things. As far as my business with my fiancé he creates apps! Mobile games, websites , graphic design etc. I’m most proud of the fact that not only I but WE have overcome life’s challenges and take what we love doing seriously, no matter our status.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I’d hope that in the next few years my platform only continues to grow and I’m able to not only put other people on in central Florida to the beauty it has to offer but also to remember we only get one life let’s have fun and enjoy it to the fullest. As far as my company with my finance I’d hope that all his hard work pays off and he’s able to become the app developer he aspires to be. Together we have came up with various game ideas and not only do we have some out now, but more to come.
