Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey as a makeup artist began unexpectedly when several years ago a friend asked me to do her makeup for fun. As a result, others who saw her makeup began asking me to do theirs as well. I slowly but surely fell in love with creating makeup looks and became passionate for making women feel confident in their own skin. Back in 2021, I decided to start doing makeup professionally and began educating myself through YouTube tutorials and other resources on social media. I also began investing in items for my makeup kit. Fast forward to the present, I now have a growing small business dedicated to women of all skin tones. I have been blessed to receive every client who sits in my chair and I am thankful to God for bringing me this far.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. When I started doing makeup professionally, I had one adverse experience with a client who was unsatisfied with her makeup to say the least. She was very condescending and would not let me try to adjust or correct the makeup look to her liking. At the time, there were others in the room and this client spoke to me in a very unwarranted manner. It was a humiliating experience. I was able to remain professional and respectful throughout this interaction. However, upon leaving I remember shaking and crying from frustration and anger with thoughts of not continuing as a makeup artist. Nonetheless, I was able to recover from that experience and use it as fuel to my fire to strive to improve my technique and skill as a makeup artist.

I am a professional makeup artist who has been in the beauty industry for over 3 years. I specialize in special event and bridal makeup. My goal is to ensure I create looks that satisfy each client’s preference. I have created makeup looks that range from natural makeup to full dramatic glam. Something that sets me apart from other makeup artists is my faith. I believe in doing all things with love as stated in 1 Corinthians 16:14. When you book with me, rest assured I will put your needs first and do everything possible to obtain your desired look for your special day!
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
The beauty industry is one that is constantly evolving. Every year brings along new trends, new beauty products, new influencers, etc. Over the next 5-10 years, I do believe there will be many changes, especially regarding makeup as we wear it today. I will strive to keep up with the trends that come along with makeup and continue my education to offer my clients the best quality service.
