Today we’d like to introduce you to Shawn Kilgore and Natalie Cordone. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Shawn Kilgore and Natalie Cordone met over a decade ago when they were cast as husband and wife in the hit musical, “Baby.” They loved collaborating so much that they started writing, producing, and starring in their own shows as “Cordone & Kilgore.” Since then, they have toured the country and created more than a dozen shows including their biggest hit, “The Start of Something Big: The Music of Steve & Eydie.” They are often soloists with symphony orchestras, including the Orlando Philharmonic’s 2022 hit performance of “Cirque de la Symphonie: Cirque goes Broadway.”
Next, they will star as the soloists with the Hollywood Concert Orchestra’s “The First 50 Years of Broadway” on October 30 at 2 pm at the Lewis Auditorium at Flagler College. https://emmaconcerts.com/event/hollywood-concert-orchestra-the-first-50-years-of-broadway/
They are also developing a new show with their jazz band entitled, “It’s Vegas, Baby: The Headliners”. This incredible night of music will cover artists from The Rat Pack and Rosemary Clooney to Wayne Newton, Tom Jones, Dolly Parton, Barry Manilow, Cher, Celine Dion, and many more! No impersonators, just all the best darned live music of the past century.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Shawn and Natalie have encountered a lot of life lessons over the past decade.
When their live performances were all postponed due to the pandemic, they created an online talk show called “Live! with Cordone & Kilgore”. While their first love will always be playing to live audiences, this new medium helped them to reach out to their fans while we were all trapped inside. Their message to always “accentuate the positive” was reinforced with this new show and can be found on their website or wherever you find your favorite podcasts.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Shawn and Natalie are known as the best “sophisticated pop” duo in the Central Florida region. They’ve been compared to a modern-day Frank Sinatra and Barbra Streisand. Their power comes not only from their spectacular vocals but also the connection they share while they’re on stage. They command the stage both musically and with their witty, genuine banter.
This can be seen most clearly in their original shows, in which they conceive, write, produce, and star, but also in their extensive work as soloists with the top professional musicians, including Symphony Orchestras, around the country.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
While Cordone & Kilgore didn’t meet until they were both professional singer/actors, as children they both enjoyed performing. As a child, Shawn started singing in choirs and musicals, while Natalie was a dancer. Both of their favorite childhood memories are of family gatherings, seeing plays and musicals, and performing on stage.
