Today we’d like to introduce you to Sofia Franckewich.
Hi Sofia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started my photography journey when I was 16, now at the age of 25 I have been getting back into the groove of finding which niche really inspires me to create. I’ve been relocated to North Carolina for a year and during this year I plan to shoot photos of people as well as North Carolinas vast landscape.
Being a photographer is more than a hobby it’s a passion, I get to create beautiful paintings of light with my camera and get to put them on display for the world to see.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Some of the struggles is that shooting landscape and portraits are overly saturated markets. You have your hometown hero’s who are your go to’s when it comes to family photos, graduations, sports, and then you look at what you are really up against online. Your National Geographic’s and Vogue magazine photographers and you quickly realize how out of touch each market is. One of the struggles I face with this is where do I fit in personally and how can I improve on the business side to get to a point of a dream shoot or a bucket list shot.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work in hospitality management so that means dealing with amazing and not so amazing customers but by having the patience and always being able to smile through it and treat others with kindness I’m able to navigate what some others might not be able to and provide the best customer experience possible.
