Rising Stars: Meet Stephen Bristol Jr of Orlando

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephen Bristol Jr.

Hi Stephen, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Baking and cooking have always been part of my life, But my dad was the ‘cheesecake guy’ in our family. I simply took that legacy and made it my own. I started off selling cheesecakes in high school, teachers and students loved them it became a nice hobby and I loved using the funds to buy video games and Pokémon cards. But things really took off when I moved to Orlando and brought a cake to work. One coworker told another to try, and before I knew it, word spread. I was baking hundreds of cakes a week for birthdays, doctor’s offices, and special events. I’m constantly experimenting with new flavors, it’ really is a dream come true, and the best part is it’s just the beginning!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been an easy ride, but nothing ever worth doing is easy. Making these large orders every week while still working a 9-5 is exhausting. There’s some nights I don’t get to bed until 5 in the morning. But having someone as great as my wife backing me up makes it all worthwhile. She’s definitely the reason I’m able to do the things I do. I don’t know where I’d be without her❤️.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
By day, I work at a law firm, not because I’m passionate about legal work, but because it pays the bills. At my core, I’m a creative. I love to draw, dive into graphic design, and experiment in the kitchen. Baking is my outlet it’s where I get to push boundaries, invent new flavors, and hear the sweetest feedback: “This is the best I’ve ever had.” There’s no cake I won’t try to make, and no flavor combination too wild to explore. Whether it’s a blank canvas or an empty mixing bowl, I thrive on turning ideas into something people can see, taste, and remember.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
According to my wife it’s my resilience, for me it’s my faith. I have tremendous faith in the Lord knowing that he will always make a way for me. As long as you continue to be a blessing to others you’ll receive blessings in return. Just be a good person and people will be good to you. I’ve received so many opportunities just by helping people even something as small as a compliment can open doors.
