Rising Stars: Meet Stevél Reyes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stevél Reyes

Hi Stevél, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I actually have been making music and writing my own songs since I was 10! I started rapping before I started singing so I remember I would put on instrumentals to my favorite songs and remix them. Around 16 I started producing and engineering on my own but anyone who does music can testify to how much doing it on your own can be. Once moving out here to Florida I began going to “212 recording” studios and since then my sound has improved drastically, those guys are some of the best in the business when it comes to getting that professional sound on every track

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has generally been a pretty chaotic road to where I got to now, but one thing I would say is it all is happening so fast. It feels like yesterday I was making music in my room with my friends and now I’m in studios and meeting people I thought I would never meet before. One of the struggles for me has been to remain in the present I sometimes get so caught up on the “what’s next?” and that can cause you to miss on the “right here, right now” you know?

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Aside from music I do also act and write as well. I am just a storyteller at heart and have always been. I also teach music lessons on the side as well because I love to help others reach their full potential and lend help wherever I can.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I would say I have had a ton of good luck but luck is not something I believe in, a better way to put it would be that I’ve been blessed. There’s been alot of rooms that I’ve been unqualified to step in but by the grace of God my name was called and opportunity has been at my doorstep. There have of course been bad days but you have to have the bad in order to enjoy the good. With my business I always try to pray and inquire with good council before making big moves to avoid making any hasty decisions based out of impulse. Since implementing these practices and mindsets I’ve been able to keep mentally grounded and humble
