Rising Stars: Meet Summer Breeze

Today we’d like to introduce you to Summer Breeze.

Hi Summer, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Heyyy, my name is Summer Breeze & I’m From Pensacola, Florida.

I’ve always loved taking pictures, And never was without a disposable camera as a child. I was always in the woods looking for things to snap a picture of.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely hasn’t been easy, But I’d say one of the biggest challenges has been my own self doubt at times. I’ve been taking pictures for people and just in general, Most of my adult life. I’ve always wanted to become a photographer full time but I had raise my children first. It wasn’t until a year or so ago that a friend of mine pushed me to start a photography page & I started taking it more seriously. I was taking pictures of a little travel baseball team & I just fell in love with getting those candid moments recorded for the parents & for the kids. Pictures are so important!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My heart goes into it.

Whether it be a caterpillar, or a drop of dew…If it catches my eye, It’s also setting my heart on fire. I see the emotion in situations and people & my ultimate goal has always been to portray that in my pictures. I view the world in snapshots & maybe a little different than most do, & I like sharing that with people. I have so much more to learn and to experience with photography & I’m over the moon excited about that.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I’ve always taken my camera everywhere. Even when it’s awkward, ESPECIALLY when it’s awkward, haha. I research every idea that I have religiously…I think watching National Geographic shows & reading hundreds of National Geographic magazines really influenced me. The school passed out their pamphlets every week or so featuring a new animal & I always looked at the Nat Geo photographers like celebrities. This literally started in kindergarten I believe.
