“At first my name was just something that had my nick name in it for a while(Skye),but then i was thinking one night about life and i wrote The meaning of trippy skyes in my notes:
See my name Indicates how life is to me, there’s been times where I felt like I can conquer the world and then times I fall flat on my face and wonder why my life always had me trippin, that’s where my phrase “trippy aint trippin” came from”.
“Started in my bedroom at 15 years old and when depression came into play for me mainly, but Growing up I would always be in my room performing other people’s songs on top of my bed and dresser with my speaker boomin Chris brown and Michael Jackson ,eminem ,50 cent, Kehlani etc. using a brush as the mic. My first recording was apple headphones wrapped around my head and 2 broken speakers near the mic piece cause I didn’t know how to record a stem yet. This music truly saved my life and gave me a way of expressing myself and showing others who Skyelyn is as a person and my life experiences and to not give a f*** at the end of the day. Now I love to perform with any chance I get and love the community support everytime I suprise a new face”.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing in life ever comes easy for anyone. Currently been doing this for 10 years,never stopped since 15 and with life’s situations added into the mix it comes with very highs and very lows but you smile another day and grab that notepad to express your true emotions

Trippy skyes is a female rap artist,a videographer and Car detailer on the side. Many passions come with my spirit truly. Anything art for me I have such love for Painting,Drawing etc. I grew up loving Ceramics alot. As a pisces woman the love for art comes natural to us. Detailing (Trippys touch) came from a very hard working step father that refused to see his kid just play games all day and that started at 8 years old. He always had me clean his Blazer with him and now its something I hold so close because of him. (Skyes optimize) Videography started when i was 20 years old recording an old best friend of mines music videos purely for his content and then started recording club 27 in orlando. That journey has its own life line too,that came with many obstacles and educational moments that till this day im proud of.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Distrokid put me on to understanding that there’s so many outlets there I didnt know existed at 18. I grew up on the Generic apps we all use.For me physically performing has always been that outlet for me cause everytime someone comes after I perform and says i quote “I did not expect that” and thats the fuel to my flame till this day especially being so extroverted.
