Story & Lesson Highlights with Bob Green

Bob Green shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Bob , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is a normal day like for you right now?
I usually wake up early, if I’m off work first thing is check the surf. If it’s not good then it’s coffee, followed by a nature walk with my dog and then workout, meditate, and figure out the rest of the day. Work on music, read, take care of household stuff.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’’m a singer songwriter from Orlando Florida. Every artist thinks they are interesting, but I guess what sets my music apart is it’s got a country/storyteller vibe lyrically, with an influence of 90s grunge in the instrumental part. I’ve got a new record written just gotta score the funding to produce it. I’ve always hated marketing myself but I’ve worked on that this year and I’ve been really happy seeing the growth.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
I feel like I have a cynics view of the world. Theres a lot going on in society that blows my mind that people can’t see how alarming it is.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There have been a lot. This last one involved my old manager losing a lot of my money, then having to get an attorney just to get my songs back from this person. That one took a long time to recover from mentally.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
I would say it is. I joke around a lot with people that I’m only pretending to care, but I do. My day job works with the public and hearing people’s problems everyday. Sometimes they are real and you really care, and sometimes you have to remind people they are worked up about something trivial in a playful way.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I was genuine. Hopefully they remember my art, and hopefully I’m remembered as kind and intelligent.
