Story & Lesson Highlights with Capri Joelle Artis

We recently had the chance to connect with Capri Joelle Artis and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Capri Joelle, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is a normal day like for you right now?
So on a normal day, I wake up, say my prayers, grab some breakfast, and get started on schoolwork. Around 2 or 3, it’s game time—literally. I start getting ready for tennis practice. Some days I’m with my coach Larry, other days I’m at JTCC at Bolles or training at Atlantic Beach Country Club.

If I can, I swing by CAVA for a bowl before practice, I tried playing after eating Chick-fil-A once… and yeah, never again. Practice usually runs about an hour and a half to two hours, and we play a lot of tournament-style matches at ABCC or JTCC.

After practice, I’m starving, so I eat dinner, maybe watch a movie, and call it a night before doing it all over again the next day.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Capri Joelle — a junior tennis player training with former WTA players and working toward my dream of competing on the WTA Tour and playing Division 1 tennis at Harvard.

Tennis is my passion, and I spend most of my days training, competing, and learning how to take my game to the next level. I love sharing my journey on social media — from my Harvard prep and academic goals on TikTok, to tennis highlights and training on Instagram, to all things girly and fun on YouTube.

What makes my story unique is that I’m showing what it looks like to chase big dreams with faith, focus, and a balanced life. Right now, I’m developing my game, learning from incredible coaches, and sharing every step of the journey — one match and one post at a time.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As I child I didn’t believe that things we do connected to each other but now I see how the things we do connect to each other.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Fear of failure and anxiety have been constant challenges for me. They don’t define or hold me back, but they do test my confidence and focus. Each time I push through them, especially in tennis, I grow stronger and more determined to reach my goals.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
I believe the way others see me aligns closely with my inner self, though I sometimes struggle to perceive myself in the same light.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
One thing I struggle with is OCD-type triggers. I often find myself washing my hands repeatedly or focusing on small things that don’t really matter in the long run. I’m learning that these habits don’t serve me and that the real progress I want—both in life and in tennis—comes from patience and consistency over time. It’s something I’m actively working on improving.
