We’re looking forward to introducing you to Dr. Jennifer McNeil. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Jennifer, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
I lose track of time whenever I’m creating—whether that’s developing leadership content, designing strategic frameworks, or building out new ideas for my ministry and businesses. When I’m mapping out a vision, writing, or designing something that will inspire or transform people, I can look up and hours have passed. That kind of work reconnects me to who I am at my core: a builder, a thought leader, and someone who helps others grow.
I also find myself again in movement—long walks, workouts, or simply being outdoors near water. Those moments clear my mind, center my spirit, and reconnect me with God. It’s in that quiet where my best ideas come, and where I remember my purpose and the impact I’m called to make.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Dr. Jennifer E. McNeil, and I am the Founder & CEO of Maven Leadership Solutions, a leadership development consultancy dedicated to cultivating biblically grounded, emotionally intelligent, and socially conscious leaders—particularly within Christian communities. I am also a bestselling author, a real estate and mortgage professional, and a speaker committed to helping individuals grow in purpose, faith, and financial literacy.
My brand sits at the intersection of faith, leadership, and strategy. I specialize in helping emerging leaders gain clarity, confidence, and the practical tools they need to lead well—both spiritually and professionally. What makes my work unique is that I blend 20+ years of executive-level experience in finance and compliance with ministry training and academic research. That combination allows me to bridge corporate excellence with spiritual formation, creating leadership pipelines that are both transformational and sustainable.
Right now, I am developing a multi-phase leadership pipeline through Maven Leadership Solutions designed to address leadership gaps in Christian communities in Orlando, FL. This includes new training programs, mentoring frameworks, ministry partnerships, and a strong emphasis on developing leaders who are rooted in Scripture and equipped to serve their communities with excellence. I’m also completing my doctoral work, expanding my real estate and mortgage business, and building new platforms that merge faith, finances, and leadership for global impact.
My story is one of resilience, reinvention, and obedience to God’s timing. Saying “yes” to growth, even when it required walking away from everything familiar, became the catalyst for my next level of leadership. That journey continues to shape my mission: helping others step boldly into the fullness of who they were created to be.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was the first time I made a decision that aligned with my worth—even though it surprised everyone around me. I remember choosing myself without apology. I didn’t have the title of CEO or Founder, the doctorate degree, or my book yet, but I had the confidence to say, “This is not for me,” and walk away. That moment taught me that real power is the ability to choose your standards, set boundaries, and stand firm in who you are.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Choose yourself sooner. You were never meant to shrink to be accepted, and you don’t have to earn the right to be valued. Trust your voice the first time you hear it—God placed that intuition in you for a reason. Every standard you hold, every dream that feels bigger than your surroundings, and every boundary you will one day set is preparing you for the woman you’re becoming. You are not too much. You are becoming exactly who you were created to be—strong, aligned, confident, and destined for more than you can imagine right now.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
One important truth I hold is that peace, purpose, and calling are worth more than approval—and most people don’t agree with that. I believe you can love people and still walk away from environments, relationships, or expectations that limit who you were created to be. Many people feel obligated to stay connected out of guilt, tradition, or fear of judgment, but I believe that stepping into your God-given assignment requires courage, boundaries, and a willingness to be misunderstood.
Choosing yourself, protecting your peace, and honoring your intuition is not selfish—it’s stewardship. And while very few people fully agree with me on that, I know for a fact that clarity, elevation, and alignment only happen when you’re willing to walk away from what no longer fits.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I think the part people will most misunderstand about my legacy is that my strength was not built on perfection—it was built on obedience, boundaries, and the courage to walk away from anything that dimmed my calling. From the outside, people will see the degrees, the leadership work, the businesses, the confidence, and the clarity. What they may not fully grasp is that my legacy is rooted in sacrifice, reinvention, and choosing my peace and purpose over approval at every turn.
Some will assume my elevation came from ease or opportunity, when in reality it came from choosing alignment over attachment, faith over fear, and purpose over familiarity. My legacy won’t just be what I built—it will be the quiet decisions I made to protect the woman I was becoming. And that part, the cost of becoming, is what most people will never fully see or understand.
