We recently had the chance to connect with Francesca Tarantino and have shared our conversation below.
Francesca, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
I am chasing my dream of becoming a world touring pop-rock artist! If I stopped, I would be giving up on a dream that I’ve had for years and all of my sweat, hard-work and sacrifices would be for nothing. I will never stop chasing this dream or any others that I make for myself!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Francesca Tarantino an Indie Pop-Rock artist from Orlando, Florida. I sing, play guitar (both acoustic and electric), write my own songs, perform out live, and even self-produce my songs. What makes me unique is that, I am a 17 year old female who loves classic rock! I love to cover all the classics and even play the epic guitar solos, which most people never expect! I love to create my own music blending that classic rock feel with some pop rock vibes.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My parents definitely saw who I was and what I could be before I did! I’ve been told that I was singing and belting out lots of classic rock songs at a very early age. It was my mom who encouraged me to keep singing and always be myself and it was my dad who put the first guitar in my hand and taught me how to play my first chords!
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Oh yes! I struggled with worrying what people thought of me! I actually used to hide when I sang and didn’t want people looking at me. Also, I really struggled with posting on social media because I cared way too much about people judging me. I almost stopped it and gave up on my dream, which looking back now I am so glad I didn’t !
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
ABSOLUTELY! I strive to be very real and authentic. I can’t imagine being fake or pretending to be something or someone I’m not! And I think people recognize that.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
This is such a great question! I am trying to eat healthier (not easy, because I have a sweet tooth) and trying to get more rest. I am learning how to prioritize and maximize my time and sometimes making difficult decisions to miss out on some stuff, but I know that these sacrifices will be worth it a few years from now.
