We’re looking forward to introducing you to JHONATHAN LOPEZ . Check out our conversation below.
Good morning JHONATHAN , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day always begin with a prayer of gratitude to God and a request for protection. That moment grounds me and reminds me of what truly matters. After that, I take time to organize my thoughts and priorities, whether it’s through a quiet coffee, some reading, or simply a few minutes of silence before the day unfolds. It’s my way of balancing the spiritual, the personal, and the professional from the very start.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jhonathan López, and I am the founder of a company dedicated to water damage restoration and mold remediation. What makes my work unique is the way we approach each case: we treat every water damage and mold situation like a crime scene, forming hypotheses, investigating the origin, following chains of custody, and documenting every detail. We believe this is the proper way to handle mold, because it is not just a minor inconvenience—it is a serious problem affecting the health and safety of many, and it is still not given the attention it deserves.
Currently, I am developing an innovative project aimed at transforming how we address this environmental challenge. Beyond the technical side, my mission is to help families and businesses restore healthy spaces, while also creating opportunities for growth and education in this industry. My story is one of resilience, faith, and the conviction that with vision and dedication, challenges can be turned into solutions with real impact.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
The one who saw me clearly before I could see myself was my wife. She believed in me when I was still discovering who I was, strengthened me, and encouraged me to keep moving forward. Together, as immigrants in this country that gave us opportunities, we built our company from the ground up, with effort, dedication, and the conviction that anything is possible with faith and hard work.
Our daughter, who came to this country at just 3 years old, has also been a remarkable example of vision and resilience. Now, at 11, she is a young teenager who has experienced every step of our company: the achievements, the goals, the tough decisions, the laughter, and the moments of tears. Seeing her grow and be inspired by our journey reminds us why we do what we do. Every project, every challenge, and every success we face always hand in hand with God, grateful for His guidance and protection. This story is not just about business; it is about love, family, resilience, and the belief that with faith and vision, dreams can be transformed into realities that touch the lives of others.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say something to my younger self, I would tell him to trust himself and the journey ahead, even when everything feels uncertain. I would tell him to cherish the people around him, especially his family, because they will be his strength in the toughest moments. Not to fear mistakes or failures, because each challenge will be a lesson bringing him closer to his dreams. And above all, to always keep faith and gratitude, because with God by your side, perseverance, and the right vision, anything is possible.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I am committed to creating solutions that transform how people deal with mold and water damage in their homes and businesses. What many see as simple mold can become toxic over time, and in some cases, even threaten lives. This project goes beyond simple repair—it aims to protect families’ health, educate on the importance of proper handling, and bring innovation to the industry. No matter how long it takes, I will continue working with dedication and faith, because I know the impact of this project can change lives and create safer, healthier spaces for everyone.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember me as someone who worked with passion and purpose, who never stopped striving to do what was right, even when circumstances were difficult. That I was a man of faith, who always put God at the center of every decision, and who deeply valued his family, who were my strength and guidance. That my legacy isn’t just in the businesses I built, but in the way I helped protect homes, families, and lives, and inspired others to face challenges with resilience, integrity, and vision. That they remember, even in confronting problems many ignored, like mold and water damage, we always sought solutions that made the world a safer and healthier place for everyone.
