Hi Lexington, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Rise and shine alarm sounds at 5am everyday. I snooze maybe two to three times before rolling out of my sheets. My first morning ritual is thanking the universe, my spirit guides, and my ancestors for the beautiful life have. I let my two fur babies out of their crates and exchange hugs and kisses. They get their teeth brushed and some breakfast before their morning walk. I like to do a little skin care while they finish. We go for a morning half mile walk and I head the the gym for my two hour workout. I also grab some coffee before the gym it gets me going.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Lexington Dash Martinez or HairSnatched as many may know me by. Latino Virgo man raised in Palm Bay florida. I’m a colorist for men and women specializing in lived in balayage color. The most special part of my career is seeing people gain their confidence back when they leave my chair. Hair was the last career I wanted to do. I wanted to be a fashion stylist for celebs. Hair basically choose me and I ran with it. My talent speaks for itself.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My bestie Jessica rowe is have to say saw the true potential in me before I saw it myself. She’s pushes me to be the best version of me I could be on this planet. Without her my world wouldn’t make sense.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I feel like this industry is so cut throat. The slow season tend to make us want to change paths. But you have to keep pushing. With the economy the way it is today it’s hard to stay afloat. But we got this. Hair is here to stay.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They would say fashion is in my blood. I love to dress to impress and leave my mark anywhere I go. I literally sleep in the sexiest night time fits for bed.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
When I’m long gone I know they would say Lexington’s energy was always pure and special. He would sprinkle positive seeds here and there
