Story & Lesson Highlights with Shakira García of Online,Kissimee,St.Cloud,Orlando

Shakira García shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Shakira, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are a blend of faith, family, and little routines that bring me joy. I usually start by checking on my baby and then I move into my quiet time with God—praying and worshiping, even if it’s while I’m getting ready in the bathroom. After a shower, skincare, and getting dressed, I shift into “mom mode,” checking on my kids and heading to the kitchen.
Coffee is definitely part of my morning routine. I put a pot on, turn on my computer, and play worship music to set the atmosphere for the day. While the coffee brews, I prepare breakfast for my family. Once everything is ready, I finally sit with my cup of coffee and open my devotional. Those moments—Bible open, coffee in hand, music playing—are where I feel most centered and ready to step into whatever the day holds.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Shakira, and I am the founder of *Desde Mi Biblia*, a bilingual faith-based community that combines Bible journaling, devotionals, creativity, and fellowship. What makes our ministry unique is the way we bring together Scripture, art, and daily life—helping women around the world experience God’s Word not just as text, but as something alive and creative.

Beyond ministry, I am also a proud Puerto Rican, a wife, and a mom of three. I’m a coffee lover who enjoys the beach, nature, reading, traveling, and exploring new places—especially bookstores, thrift stores, and coffee shops. I love connecting with new people and building community wherever I go.

Through *Desde Mi Biblia*, we create spaces where women of faith can grow spiritually while expressing their creativity. In addition to our online devotionals and resources, we also gather monthly in person for Bible journaling workshops, where women can learn, share, and experience God’s Word in a creative and practical way. Our vision is to inspire believers to fall in love with the Word of God and to live it out in their everyday lives.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
One of my earliest memories of feeling powerful was when I realized that my voice and my story could make an impact on others. As a young woman, I learned that when I shared my faith, my struggles, and my victories, people were encouraged and drawn closer to God. That moment taught me that true power doesn’t come from status or position—it comes from living authentically, walking in faith, and letting God’s light shine through you.

Today, I carry that same belief into Desde Mi Biblia, where I see women empowered every day as they engage with Scripture in creative and personal ways.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Some of the defining wounds of my life include walking through domestic violence, seasons of loss, disappointment, and moments when I felt unseen or unworthy. As a woman, wife, and mother, those experiences left deep marks, sometimes making me question my strength and even my identity.

But I am a survivor. And my deepest healing has come through Christ. Prayer, the Word of God, and the support of my family and faith community have helped me turn wounds into testimonies. What once brought pain has become a source of resilience and hope.

Today, I no longer see those wounds as scars that limit me, but as reminders of God’s grace and faithfulness. They allow me to walk alongside other women with compassion, to remind them that no matter how broken we feel, healing and restoration are possible when we place our lives in Jesus’ hands.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
One cultural value I protect at all costs is faith at the center of family and community. For me, everything flows from there. In a world that often prioritizes independence or individual success, I believe in protecting the values of faith, unity, and service—living in a way that our children and those around us can see Christ in our daily lives.

It means creating spaces where prayer, respect, and compassion are non-negotiable. Even when culture shifts, I hold on to the truth that honoring God and nurturing family is the foundation for lasting legacy.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
The story I hope people tell about me when I’m gone is that I lived with courage, faith, and love—that I was a woman who walked closely with God and reflected His light in everything I did.

I want people to remember me not for titles or accomplishments, but for the way I made them feel: seen, valued, and closer to Christ.

If my life can inspire someone to heal, to rise, to believe again, or to find hope in God’s promises, then I’ve lived my purpose. My greatest desire is that my legacy is one of faith that outlives me, a reminder that even broken vessels can carry the sweetest honey of His presence.
