We’re looking forward to introducing you to Yasmine Colon Maldonado . Check out our conversation below.
Yasmine , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Something that’s bringing me so much joy outside of work right now is junk journaling! While it’s become super popular recently, I’ve actually been doing it for years and I love that it’s making a comeback. There’s just something magical about bringing my notebooks to life that fills me with so much happiness.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Yasmine, and I am the owner and lead planner of Perfectly Planned by Yas. I specialize in curating weddings and events that are not only beautifully designed but also deeply personal and memorable. What makes my brand unique is the balance I bring between creativity and organization. My clients know they can trust me to handle every detail while also bringing their vision to life in ways they may not have imagined.
I started Perfectly Planned by Yas out of a genuine passion for creating experiences that celebrate love, culture, and community. I’m especially proud of how my work bridges diverse backgrounds whether it’s planning a destination wedding in Cartagena, a corporate gala in Orlando, or an intimate event for a local couple. Right now, I’m also focused on building stronger vendor communities and networking opportunities to help other creatives in the industry grow together.
At the heart of it all, my mission is simple: to make every event feel effortless, intentional, and unforgettable for both my clients and their guests.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My mother has always been my greatest inspiration. She believed I could do anything, and that belief gave me the courage to bring my dreams to life. Today, I’m grateful that I get to live that dream and do what I love, over and over again.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
What I feared most was caring about what people think. Not anymore! People will always have opinions, good or bad, so let them talk. I’m too busy doing me and chasing my dreams.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Oh, that’s a good question. My answer is yes and no. I’m as real as it gets, but always with respect and professionalism.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What will you regret not doing?
Traveling more. There’s so much beauty in this world and I must see and experience it.
