The Dramatic SLP LLC brings the dramatic arts to speech therapy! I deliver unique treatment methods for speech therapy clients of all ages to target social language, expressive language, and receptive language skills by combining my performing arts experience and expertise in the dramatic arts. These one-of-a-kind treatment methods are designed to engage clients, develop a unique sense of self to build confidence when communicating, and target language skills in fun and interactive environments. I love to target skills through a class setting or one-on-one therapy treatment methods.
Can you go more in depth about your process and or what you feel sets your business apart from others. What else should we know?
Yes! Speech Language Pathology is a field that many parents, allies and even therapists can agree is well known for treating clients of younger ages or older ages. Most parents and caregivers are struggling to find therapists who target language skills or even social language skills for all ages, even those ages of 21 years old and up. Currently, I have a 40-year-old client who benefits from my services as we target speech and language skills through pragmatic (or social language) practices, such as buying items from a local farmer’s market or shopping at a local food market to target social interactions. I also incorporate my knowledge of the dramatic arts to target skills such as appropriate breath support for speaking through the use of singing, acting, and dancing. As a well-seasoned performer with a background from Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, several local entertainment companies, and more, I have been performing and producing shows for seven years, both in Orlando and at a national level. In this time, I have learned a great deal about how to use and develop appropriate body language, vocal tone, facial expressions, conversational timing and more through specific animation and acting techniques I bring to my treatment methods in the field of speech language pathology. The Dramatic SLP’s goal is to merge those techniques with what we know in the field of speech language pathology to broaden our communication and expand on how we treat our clients. The Dramatic SLP is a way to expand on already useful treatment methods delivered in a way that engages clients, generates fun, develops communication styles, and attains language goals across natural environments to create success in everyday lives!
